It was built on a new aluminum-intensive platform and it inaugurated a thoroughly revised version of the firm's 5.9-liter V12. It was available as both a 2+2 coupe or convertible, and handled markedly better than its predecessor thanks in part to a 50/50 weight distribution achieved by moving the V12 back in the engine bay and fitting a rear-mounted transaxle.Power for this DB9 comes from a 5.9-liter V12, rated at 470 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.
