While the 4×4²'s body was the same as the W463-generation G's, meaning it's more compact than it may look, it offered nearly 18 inches of ground clearance thanks in part to portal axles that also significantly widened its track. Only a small handful of units were brought to America.Power comes from 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, rated at 416 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque when left stock. Brabus states that its tune increases those figures to 500 and 524, respectively, but a dyno sheet is not available. The engine spins the four wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission linked to shift paddles, a 2-speed transfer case, 3 independent differential locks, and portal axles.
