2017 BMW 440i xDrive, finished in Midnight Blue Metallic with a body-colored hardtop and an Oyster interior. This 440i's odometer displays about 18,200 miles. Highly optioned, this 4 Series is equipped with 18-inch wheels, wood interior trim, heated and power-adjustable front sport seats, a navigation system, and a head-up display, according to a build sheet pictured in the gallery. BMW released the first 4 Series for the 2014 model year to replace the two-door 3 Series. Turning the two-door into a standalone model allowed engineers to make it lower and wider than the F30-generation 3 Series it was related to while fitting a sportier suspension system. At launch, the range included two models called 428i and 435i, respectively. They were replaced by the 430i and the 440i for 2017 as part of a mid-cycle update. Called Life Cycle Impulse (LCI) in BMW-speak, the update also brought more powerful engines across the range and a new iDrive infotainment system, among other changes.Power comes from a 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-6 engine, rated at 320 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. It spins the 4 wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission linked to a pair of shift paddles and BMW's xDrive permanent all-wheel-drive system.
