2003 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Designo Launch Edition, finished in Designo Silver with a black interior. The odometer currently displays approximately 66,700 miles. Modifications reported by the selling dealer are limited to a set of 20-inch aftermarket wheels and tinted windows.The R230-generation SL roadster debuted for the 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show and was the second Mercedes-Benz with a retractable hardtop and the third to use Active Body Control, joining the S-Class and the CL-Class. Mercedes-Benz made extensive use of the “CAVE” (Computer Aided Virtual Environment) system when designing the R230. It was the second Mercedes-Benz to be designed using this software after the W203 C-Class.Power comes from an "M113" 5.0-liter V8, rated at 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed automatic transmission.
