Product Details

1984 Chevrolet M1009 K5 Blazer 4x4, finished in camouflage with a brown interior. This Blazer was built for use by the United States military, and was reportedly transferred into service for the West Virginia Forest Service in 2005. A partial list of notable equipment includes 15-inch military steel wheels, a hybrid 12/24-volt electrical system, a front brush guard, vinyl upholstery, a folding rear bench seat, and more as detailed below.Modifications reported by the seller include a doghead starter relay, a spin-on fuel filter, a "biohazard" logo plate on the front bumper, and tinted rear cap windows.Built for the United States military from 1984-1987 as part of the "Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle" (CUCV) program, the M1009 took the already-robust Chevrolet K5 Blazer and made it even more indestructible thanks to a diesel V8, a hybrid 12/24-volt electrical system, and an uprated 3/4-ton capacity. While never sold to the general public, many M1009s have made their way into civilian hands where they enjoy a reputation as a no-frills, go-anywhere off-road utility vehicle.Power comes from a 6.2-liter "Detroit Diesel" V8, rated at 155 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear or all-4 wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission and a 2-speed transfer case.
