It stood out from the standard IS with a distinct appearance package and rear bucket seats plus several mechanical upgrades. It introduced the "2UR-GSE" DOHC, 4-valve-per-cylinder V8 engine with Yamaha-designed high-flow cylinder heads, which would go on to see duty in the GS F, RC F, and LC 500.The IS F received some updates for the 2011 model year including revised steering and suspension, a "Sport" button on the steering wheel, and a redesigned gauge cluster inspired by the LFA.Power comes from the 2UR-GSE 5.0-liter V8 engine, which produces 416 horsepower and 371 lb-ft of torque.
