Called A70 internally, it received a more powerful naturally-aspirated engine (forced induction was added later) plus styling revisions inside and out. 1987 was the first year for the Supra Turbo, which put the car in a new class of performance competitive with the likes of the Chevrolet Corvette, Porsche 944 Turbo, and Mazda RX-7 Turbo.Power comes from a "7M-GTE" turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 engine, which produces 230 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque.
