2017 Ariel Atom 3R, finished in Tuxedo Black with a black interior. Assembled in Virginia, this Atom 3R is equipped with 15-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, JRi adjustable dampers, Wilwood brake calipers, carbon fiber body panels, a quick-release Momo steering wheel, and an adjustable Tilton Engineering pedal box, among other features. This car's build sheet is pictured in the gallery. The only modification reported by the seller is an aftermarket sound system. England-based Ariel designed the Atom to blur the line between a street car and a race car. The model features no doors, no roof, and a tubular chassis. It launched in 2000 with a Rover-sourced K-Series engine, it arrived in the United States in 2005, and it has gone through numerous mechanical evolutions since. It's still available in 2021.Ariel announced the 1,360-pound 3R variant of the Atom in 2016. Sold exclusively on the North American market, it gained Honda's supercharged "K20Z3" engine and a full carbon fiber package, among other features. 10 units were built; this car is number 4. Power comes from a 2.0-liter supercharged 4-cylinder engine, rated at about 300 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque. Sourced from Honda and tuned by Ariel, it spins the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
