Product Details

1994 Western Star Iveco M40.10, finished in green with a black interior. This M40.10 was built for the Canadian Army and reportedly purchased by the seller from a government auction in 2017. Its metric instrument cluster indicates about 31,500 kilometers, which represents around 19,600 miles. Developed with longevity in mind, this M40.10 is equipped with 16-inch wheels, locking differentials, a folding windshield, removable doors, and a heater, among other features. Modifications reported by the seller include a marine-grade water-diesel separator filter, a longer exhaust system, door locks, and extra sound-deadening material in the cab.Iveco granted Western Star a license to build its M40.10 for the Canadian Army in the early 1990s. Part of the Light Support Vehicle Wheeled (LSVW) project, the truck entered production in 1993 and gradually replaced some of the older vehicles used by Canada's armed forces. It was available in several configurations, including cargo- and troop-carrying variants, and most were related to the Iveco Daily civilian van sold by the millions in Europe.Power comes from a 2.5-liter turbocharged and intercooled 4-cylinder diesel engine, rated at about 115 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. Part of Sofim's "8140" family of engines, it spins the 4 wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission and a 2-speed transfer case.
