Product Details

1994 Land rover Discovery Camel Trophy, finished in Sandglow Yellow with a beige cloth interior. This Discovery was commissioned by Land Rover Special Vehicles to compete in the 1995 edition of the Camel Trophy held in Central America. It was piloted 1,520 kilometers (945 miles) through Belize, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras. This is a Euro-spec, right-hand drive truck. Imported from England in 2020, it's equipped with with an imperial instrument cluster, and the odometer indicates approximately 104,800 miles. This truck was heavily modified at Land Rover's Special Installations division, and features Hella off-road lighting, an aftermarket front bumper and push bar, a Mantec snorkel, a Husky winch, Mantec sand ladders, a roof rack with a full complement of recovery gear, heavy-duty springs and shocks, upgraded half-shafts, skid plates, and much more as detailed below. The inaugural Camel Trophy event kicked off in 1980 deep in the jungles of Brazil, and featured a trio of German teams driving South American-built Jeeps. Over the next 18 years however, Land Rover vehicles were exclusively used for the event, with Discoveries making an appearance for eight of those. They competed in harsh and unforgiving environments including deserts, jungles, and snow-blown tundra, covering vast distances with little more than the skill and wit of their drivers and what they carried onboard for the duration of the journey.Power comes from a "300Tdi" 2.5-liter turbodiesel inline-4, rated at 111 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to all four wheels through an "R380" 5-speed manual transmission and an "LT230" full-time 4wd 2-speed transfer case.
