Product Details

1983 Mercedes-Benz 300TD, finished in blue-green pearl with a Palomino interior. This 300TD's factory-fitted 4-speed automatic transmission has been replaced by a 4-speed manual that reportedly came from a European-spec car. The list of modifications reported by the seller also includes 16-inch wheels, European-spec headlights and bumpers, leather upholstery on the front seats, an interior temperature display from a Mercedes-Benz W124, a Kenwood head unit, and Infinity speakers.Mercedes-Benz introduced the W123 sedan for 1977 and quickly dropped the gasoline-burning models to focus on the more popular diesel-powered variants. The range included the 240D, which received a 4-cylinder diesel engine, and the 300D, which offered an extra cylinder (and, later, a turbo). Released for 1979, the S123 was the first wagon that Mercedes-Benz developed in-house. Sales ended after the 1985 model year, when the W123 was replaced by the W124 (which later became the first E-Class).Power comes from a 3.0-liter turbodiesel 5-cylinder engine, rated at 123 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. Called "OM617" internally, it spins the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission.
