The GMC Sierra variant of the GMT800 was aimed at buyers looking for more of a luxury feel in their pickup trucks. The Sierra 1500 was the light duty offering from GMC, and the model was available as a 2-door regular cab, 3 or 4-door extended cab, or a 4-door crew cab. Multiple bed sizes were offered as well. In 2003, GM made slight changes to the front and rear exterior appearance of the Sierra, and production ended in 2007 when it was replaced by the GMT900 platform.Power comes from a 5.3-liter "Vortec" V8, rated at 295 horsepower and 335 lb-ft of torque. The engine spins the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission.
