The only modification reported by the selling dealer is window tint. The Benoit Jacob-designed BMW i8 was introduced for 2014 and marketed as the flagship of BMW's "i" sub-brand. The gasoline-electric sports car is built on a carbon fiber tub and combines pure concept-car looks with plenty of technology which remains impressive to this day. Production ended in 2020.Power comes from a gasoline-electric plug-in hybrid powertrain, which consists of a 1.5-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine, a pair of electric motors, and a 7.1-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack. The system is rated at 357 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, and it spins the front, rear, or all four wheels, via a 6-speed automatic transmission, if the 3-cylinder engine is running.
