It notably received a sport-tuned suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, a dual exhaust system, a transmission cooler, and a high-capacity reverse-flow cooling system, among other features. It was the last rear-wheel-drive V8-powered Chevrolet sedan until the Holden-built SS was introduced for the 2014 model year.Power comes from a heavily modified "LT1" 5.7-liter V8, rated at 260 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque in stock form. The seller states that it now makes around 550 horsepower at the wheels thanks to the "LT4" conversion kit, supercharger, and other modifications, but a dyno sheet was not provided to confirm. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission.
