The RS5 high-performance variant was released in 2010 and featured a V8 engine, enhanced suspension and steering systems, a torque-vectoring rear differential, and wider body panels. The model was revised in 2012 with improved front dampers and springs, electric power steering, a retractable rear spoiler, red cam covers, a carbon fiber intake manifold, and a sport exhaust system.Power comes from a 4.2-liter "FSI" V8, rated at 450 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission and Audi's Quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system.
