Product Details

1997 Lotus Elise, finished in green with a red soft top and a red interior. This is a left-hand drive, European-spec convertible. It's equipped with a metric instrument cluster and its odometer displays about 90,200 kilometers, which represents approximately 56,000 miles. The attached Carfax history report starts in 2016 and lists no accidents since.Modifications reported by the seller include 15-inch front and 16-inch rear RS Watanabe wheels, Esqueleto seats, and a Pioneer Carrozzeria CD player. An invoice pictured in the gallery shows that the timing belt and water pump were among the parts replaced during a service performed in August 2022 at 89,168 kilometers (55,406 miles).Lotus released the original Elise in 1996. Named after then-chairman Romano Artioli's granddaughter Elisa, the roadster featured a fiberglass body, an aluminum chassis, and a mid-mounted engine sourced from Rover. At about 1,600 pounds in its standard configuration it was perfectly aligned with the "light is right" philosophy that Lotus founder Colin Chapman held dear. Production of the Elise Series 1 ended in 2001, and the model was never officially sold in the United States.Power comes from a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine, rated at 120 horsepower and 121 lb-ft of torque. Part of the "K-Series" family of engines, it spins the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
