Product Details

1984 Volkswagen Rabbit GTI, finished in silver with a red interior. This GTI is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. Factory equipment includes sport seats, cloth upholstery, air conditioning, manual windows, and more as listed below. Modifications reported by the seller include 15-inch BBS wheels, a Borla exhaust system, BC Racing coilover suspension, and a Nardi steering wheel. The full list is shown below. The Volkswagen Golf Mk1, also known as the Type 17, was called the Rabbit when it first arrived in North America. It was considered the successor to the original Type 1 Beetle as the brand's small family car marking a shift to a front-engine, front-wheel-drive design for VW's major car lines. The GTI was the performance model of the Mk1 and one of the earliest examples of a "hot hatch." Improvements over the standard Golf/Rabbit include a bigger engine with lightened pistons, bigger valves, a higher compression, and a free-flow exhaust plus a close-ratio 5-speed manual transmission.Power comes from a "JH" 1.8-liter 8-valve inline-4, rated at 90 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
